I understand disasters. Earthquakes and hurricanes are natural disasters I can do nothing about. But President George Bush is a disaster. I can't do anything about that either. He claims that his election gives him power to continue his war mongering. But he was re-elected by the smallest plurality in the history of second term presidents. Now I ask you, how did that happen? Not because his party faithful believed in Republican principles.

Too many people were hoodwinked into believing the only way to support our troops was to vote for Bush. Be patriotic. Support our troops. More wars are not the answer.

TO QUOTE SEYMOUR M. HERSH:

"George W. Bush's reëlection was not his only victory last fall. The President and his national-security advisers have consolidated control over the military and intelligence communities' strategic analyses and covert operations to a degree unmatched since the rise of the post-Second World War national-security state."

Rumsfeld did not believe that the 49 percent of the voters in the election really are against the war in Iraq and certainly do not want to expand into Iran. A draft is a certainty if we are to remain the world's bully.

Intelligence and military officials revealed that the President signed a series of findings and executive orders authorizing Special Forces units to conduct covert operations against suspected terrorist targets in as many as ten nations in the Middle East and South Asia. Is this a war on terrorists? Or a war on Islam? Rumsfeld continues to run the operations free from legal restrictions and the Pentagon doesn't feel obligated to report any of this to Congress.

WHAT AN UNNATURAL DISASTER - ALL BECAUSE OF MISDIRECTED PATRIOTISM INSISTING WE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS.

AS IF WE CANNOT BE PATRIOTIC AND STILL OPPOSE WARS.
