Today Tinsley/Mallard comments on the
President's Legal Defense Fund

OK, it looks like Saturday's cartoon was just a hiccup. Perhaps because more news sources are admitting that there is strong evidence of an organized Republican effort to hurt (and if possible, get rid of) President Clinton. I sincerely hope that we won't hear any more from the "duck" trying to provide cover for these despicable attacks.

Today's cartoon uses an offensive racial epithet aimed at our President and implies that the only reason he is asking for "generous contributions" to help with his legal defense is to live in a lavish style.

This is incorrect on many levels:

  1. I haven't heard that the President is currently seeking donations.   Perhaps the duck has another inside informant?
  2. The last time he did ask for assistance, there was a $100 per-person cap.
  3. Contributions could only be used to pay his legal expenses not personal items.
  4. This defense fund was only necessary because a group of rich Republicans mounted a concerted effort to destroy the President.

These people are bank-rolling Paula Jones NOT BECAUSE THEY GIVE A FIG about sexual harassment. This is just to nail the President. (Did these groups give even one penny to help any women who claim harassment by Republicans?)

The "reporter" who initially made-up the story (dubbed "troopergate" because they found some ex-troopers who claim they provided women for then Governor Clinton) has formally appologized for his inaccurate and shoddy work. But you cannot put the genie back in the bottle.

Dan, why are you picking on this dim-witted duck anyway?
