Today Tinsley/Mallard is
Still hooked on the same cartoon

Yawn!   The duck is still watching the "Hooked on Histrionics" commercial on his TV.   One big difference, this time we are standing behind the duck looking at the TV and can see the screen.   Who is on the screen?   Nobody!   The picture is blank.   Wow!   That really shows imagination (well at least as much as it took to run this same cartoon for the last 4 days in a row.)

Today the commercial says you can learn valuable life skills "...such as avoiding responsibility through indignation!..." Yeah, I can see where some of Mallard's Republican buddies are already reaping the benefits of this "home-study course."

For example there's Georgia Representative Bob Barr who got caught accepting $55,000 in illegal campaign contributions.   His lawyer, probably also a "graduate" responded "the Barr campaign was not familiar with all those technicalities."   (David Espo, Associated Press, 3/31/98).

Barr is also adept at other histrionic skills.   Even though he has been divorced not once but TWICE, he is a leading advocate of the "Defense of Marriage Act."   Hey, who better to stand up for marriage than a guy who has done it so often.   What do you expect?   Somebody who makes a lifetime commitment to their spouse and then LIVES UP TO THEIR WORD????

Actually the most telling indicator from Rep. Barr is his legislation calling for the Judiciary committee to impeach President Clinton.   When asked if perhaps they shouldn't wait to see if their special prosecutor finds any evidence of wrong-doing before proceeding, he replied

I don't think impeachment should hinge on what Starr does.

Hey Hillary, quit complaining that Republicans are out to get your husband!   What could be more fair than impeaching him before the prosecutor even finds a crime!

Dan, why are you picking on this dim-witted duck anyway?
