Thank You President Carter

The warrantless wiretaps that eavesdrop on American citizens are illegal and unconstitutional. While Americans are outraged about this, news media refuse to discuss it in any meaningful terms. While I wait to see if there are enough patriotic Republicans to impeach George Bush, I wonder why so many of them have just put their tails between their legs and let this administration piss on the Constitution.
While idealistic patriots, Al Gore foremost, have spoken out about this un-American activity, the media glosses over it. It took President Carter speaking at an event in George Bush’s presence to finally get the attention of the press.
Jimmy Carter has once again shown himself to be a great American simply by stating the truth at Coretta King’s funeral. And what a fitting tribute to a woman who fought for American justice all her life to be eulogized in terms that remind us all what it means to be free from government tyranny.
