Shame on the Democrats

Half as good.

The Democratic National Committee's decision to give Florida and Michigan all their delegates, but with only half a vote each is half as good as the Republican decision of 2000 to not count Florida at all. Being half as good as the Republicans is not good enough.

But it was the Obama representatives that have assured the election of John McCain. All Obama had to do was show his confidence as a front runner, the largess of an idealist, and respect for voters by asking that Michigan and Florida be seated with full voting rights. Instead his campaign decided to ‘play hardball’ and wring every delegate they could from the process even if it meant insulting the Democrats of two states.

Elections are won state by state. Obama just lost Florida and Michigan.
