Nader lost it, not Clinton

Talk about a history rewrite. I just read a column that claims that Bill Clinton cost Gore the Presidency. What a lie. First of all, the polls of the time indicated that if Clinton had been eligible to serve a third term, he would have been reelected. Second, Gore refused to have Clinton campaign for him. That was Gore’s biggest mistake. And third, and the fact that Clinton haters really want to ignore, is that if the 10,000 Nader voters in Nevada had voted for Gore- the real environmentalist- Gore would have won in spite of Florida.

The most important election of my lifetime was held in 2000. This year is a desperate attempt to restore what we lost. Rewriting history won't solve the problem, nor will it remove the guilt from those who didn't support Gore in 2000.
