Sexist in Obama's Administration?

If Lawrence Summers had said ‘Innate differences between whites and people of color might be one of the reasons that fewer African Americans succeed in science and math careers’ would Obama still hire him for any job in this administration?
Would Americans tolerate that kind of racism?
But Lawrence Summers said that exact thing, not about people of color, but about women.

His letter of apology at no point says that his remarks were unfounded, only that he regretted that they caused a problem. His letter of ‘apology’ can be found at www.president.harvard.edu/speeches/2005/womensci.html
But what really damned him was the statistics about women being passed over for tenure and other advancement at Harvard during his presidency there. He was driven out- and rightly so.
Summers has had three years to educate himself. Has he become enlightened, and if so, is that enough? Will he publically state that a ‘y’ chromosome does not increase ability in math and science?
President-elect Obama has appointed a few women, a lot more men, and with Lawrence Summers, let’s hope a reformed bigot.
