Moral Clarity

I grew up with a sense of moral clarity. When right and wrong seemed in conflict, finding right was the most important consideration. Only sociopaths and madmen ignored the questions. And the ends never justified the means.

I was relieved to see the neo-con administration, full of sociopaths and madmen, defeated in our last election. I was as eager as anyone to look to a future of reason and fairness. Unfortunately, the evil legacy of the neo-cons must be dealt with first.

But no special prosecutors yet, please. No secret juries seated, witnesses gagged. First all Americans must face the question of right and wrong regarding war, torture, and secrecy and who knows what other crimes that were committed in our name. The lies told by those sociopaths and their allies must not go unanswered.

I would suggest that in order to keep this from becoming a Republican versus Democrat discussion, that we separate out the neo-cons and call them that. I know they don’t like it. All the better.
