Who Buys This Stuff?

Or should I ask, 'Who pays for this stuff?'
Our cable company includes a lot of junk channels to make it appear that we are getting our money’s worth from them. Lots of channels, nothing to watch. Home shopping networks- including one NBC affiliate that sells nothing but watches. I didn’t know anyone even used watches anymore.
Then there are a few religious channels, four cable news channels, old movies, old sit-coms, and another remarkable choice, old game shows. But recently a channel has come up that is the strangest one I have ever seen. It appears to be a conspiracy theory network whose main advertisers are cash-for-gold, alternative health products and Shamwow.
And what programming supports these fringe products? Shows about conspiracies, snippets of old horror movies, and with incredibly poor quality sound and picture, the finale of Gulligan’s Island where a gray haired professor, a virtually mute Gulligan, a girl-oogling Skipper, and a totally different Ginger ‘and the rest’ floated across the ocean on a hut with sails made of old clothes. But I digress from a bigger point.
What caught my attention about this channel, and keeps bringing me back, was The Matrix News. This ‘news’ show told me all about how the Swine Flu was a plot to make us all get vaccinated. I wasn’t clear on whether the vaccine was supposed to kill us or just prepare us for the vaccination that would some day be given to kill us, but one thing was clear. No vaccine is a good vaccine.
The news, presented by an upbeat, cheery man and woman team (I don’t know what they were smiling about) reported on the Bilderbergers, one world currency, Tri-lateral enslavement of the general population, and the plot against naturopathic medicines. I admire their positive attitude in light of the dismal state of freedom and America. They also had a very negative view of regular news sources, which is what I think the ‘Matrix’ part of their name refers to.
Then, since there really isn’t anything to watch on television, I checked out the ‘On Demand’ feature of my cable provider and found a current documentary about and by a radio host who has been tracking down the conspiracies ever since the Kennedy assassination- by the way, Kennedy was apparently America’s last real president. The crux of the show was that the September 11 attack was an inside job. Bilderbergers and one world currency were in this show also.
Another channel I get is Independent Film Channel which recently aired a show called ‘The Ruling Class.’ Once again, the Bilderbergers were embedded along with Tri-lateral Commissions, corporate America and endless war, all accompanied by an occasional musical number. I never knew that Jimmy Carter had become one of ‘them’ which would put him in the company of Donald Rumsfeld, by the way. Apparently ‘they’ seek out the best and brightest and turn them to the dark side whose goal is to enslave everyone else.
Which got me thinking- if ‘they’ are all so smart, how did ‘they’ get brainwashed by ‘them?’ And where do these guys get the money to produce all this stuff if all the money is controlled by the forces they are fighting? I know that I have to pay for this stuff as part of my cable tv package whether I watch it or not. And why is this stuff more entertaining than anything else on television?
