Dishumor

WARNING: This is a grumpy post. If you want to have fun while reading it, imagine Donald Duck as the narrator. I know I did.

Aren't we all just a little bit tired of basing our understanding of evolution on grad students desperate attempts to please their professors so they can be awarded a PhD?

For example, I can explain in half a dozen different ways how children abandoned by their fathers are more likely to end up with troubled lives, if they survive to adulthood at all. Even then they only live because other people step in with money or social support. A single woman cannot raise a child independently. Leave it to a grad student to overlook this basic fact of human survival and claim that rape is one way of passing on DNA.

And how about the obviously false premise that evolution selects against men who raise other mens children. Anyone who believes that needs to at least get a post office address in the real world. But the twenty-something men who earn their post graduate degree by parroting that meme are the pool from which the next generation of professors will be chosen.

I could rant on, but Donald's face is turning red and his head is about to explode.
