Save the Cheerleader

Jerry and I were talking about apocalyptic movies at dinner. He just finished watching 'I Am Legend' which is almost exactly like the old movie'Omega man'. (Although both were based on the book, 'I Am Legend.' I think Charleton Heston did a better job of dying- leaking his pure, healing blood while propped against a decorative fountain. Nobody did religious icons like Heston.

End of the world movies never get old. They always provide a backdrop for examining some great theme. Sometimes it's good versus evil like Stephen King's 'The Stand.' Almost always the end of the world is brought about by science run amok. Even in the classic 'Seventh Seal,' who dances with Death but those who follow Science and Reason?

One scenario that hasn't been explored- what happens if all the other survivors are jerks? Wouldn't that be just the luck- survive a war, a deadly virus, or a madly careening comet just to get stuck with someone who cheats at cards?
