Spring Into Action

I'm tired of waiting for sunshine in Bellingham so I'm heading to Richland where the sun always shines. I know that Mom's yard is full of flowers, but I also know that she hasn't finished cleaning up the winter debris. One year we gathered 17 lawn bags of leaves, so I expect to spend a lot of time among her tulips and daffodils, raking and scooping. It is too wet and rainy to do anything here although I have some blooms too.

Even if the drizzle doesn't stop I will have to rake up the fir needles that I dug out of my gutters last week. They were packed in solid from one end of the house to the other. When I scooped them out, I just let them drop on the lawn and driveway, so I get to clean them up twice.

There are a few other chores I must take care of before I go, like baking Jerry a cherry pie. I might do that the night before I leave so I can have a bite before I go.

The best part of taking a trip, is making plans.
