What a Day for a Daydream

Well, the long summer's day dream is coming to the end. I realized that this morning at the same time that I realized it is Thursday and I have a lunch date tomorrow.

I didn't get outside much this summer because the weather was cold and rainy, but I managed to day dream away the time just as easily while looking out the window. I rarely even bothered to write my musings into blogs, but hey-it was summer!

When we toured Bellingham's newly restored middle school, we ran across one of Ryanne's grade school teachers. Although I had volunteered at Parkview for years, I didn't intend to volunteer anymore. Which was an easy decision because Ryanne forbade me to volunteer at middle school. (And who would want elderly relatives looking over their shoulder?) But I didn't have an excuse to give the Parkview teacher when she told me that she and other teachers had been talking about volunteers, and my name came up.

But I doubt that I will volunteer there again because I have other things to fill my time, which is why my lunch date becomes relevant. It's time for me to clear the cobwebs out of my head and get busy. I came across a great strategy for finishing the novel I started more than a year ago. A friend of mine is running for mayor, and if she gets elected, I will ask to be appointed to some committee or another. And, of course, the open mike night at the book store has caught my interest.

Good thing I have a bathroom mirror. A couple of years ago I bought a dry erase board to help me keep organized, but I found out that the pens work just as well on mirrors. This morning my mirror tells me that I have a lunch date with the North-sound Democratic Club. I wonder what it will say tomorrow?
