News Worthy

It's an interesting time of year for news stories. Perhaps because the regular movers and shakers in the news rooms went on vacation. Leave it to the second string to air information.

Like- did you know that the farm industry is doing great, and has been for three years? They are making profits and adding jobs to the economy.

Like- Israel, dear to my heart because their first Prime Minister was Chicago housewife, Golda Meir, has a large faction of women haters that resemble, for all the world, Islamic extremists. Seriously, there was a 'get to the back of the bus' incident covered by my local news channel.

Like- Times Square has replaced the halogen lights in its New Year's Eve Ball with LED lights.

Okay, so it isn't all gems, but I wouldn't mind more. By Monday they will all be back to burning buildings in Whereisit, Wyoming and what Britney Spears bought her puppy for its birthday.

And pundits wonder why so many people prefer to get their news from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.
