Holey Satisfactory

About yesterday's blog- I bet a few of you are wondering about that hole in my bathroom wall, and I don't just mean about me patching it. How did it get there?

The explanation is simple. A lot simpler than the hole in the rec room ceiling which resulted from needing to replace an outdoor faucet. That hole was fairly easy to fix because gravity was on my side. A few paint sticks fitted in above the plaster board, stuck down with liquid nails, then the build up- in in the case of a ceiling, the build down- of layers of plaster, paper, and popsicle sticks. Okay, I exagerate. I used lathing strips for the build down. Then while the last coat of plaster was wet, I daubed it with sandpaper to made the texture match the rest of the ceiling. Old faucet replacement- successful!

Thinking about the great job I did on the ceiling, I don't think the foam board in the bathroom is going to suit me. But I have a picture hung over the patch so maybe I'll get used to it and move on to cleaning moss off the roof.
