Harvest Mooning

I've heard of draught and flood and pests
from 'way out east to 'way out west
that belly-aching seems to be
the biggest farm commodity.

If the rains are plentiful
it's 'way too much, we need a lull.
And if the sun shines every day,
it's sure to partch and ruin the hay.
The bumper crop that Farmer Crank
was sure to fatten up his bank
won't be quite that large, you see,
and he must bide more misery
upon this land which he did choose
as his life's burden, to always lose.

For no one loves that smelly lout
and he feels picked on and left out.
But if I hear one more fret
that the sun's too hot or rain's too wet,
I think I'll stuff his mouth with hay
and filter what he has to say.
